ABOUT FESTIVAL HOLI
Holi is known as the festival of colors, it is one of the most incredible and most enjoying festivals among all the other festivals. Which is coming and it's on the way, Holi is celebrated on the month of Phagun (March). As this festival is celebrated in India especially by Hindus, and the maximum number of Hindus are found in India only but now a day most of the non-Hindu are also participating in this festival, though nowadays it is seen in many other countries. This festival is known as a festival of brotherhood, love, and friendship.

On that particular day everyone plays with different varieties of colors (gulal), water balloons and many more, 'pitchkari'or water guns are especially used by children. Everyone color each other whether it may be their friends, relatives, siblings, parents or neighbor no matter whether it may be men or women as it is the festival of brotherhood and friendship. Holi is not complete without drum beat, song, dance, and sweets which plays a crucial role.

HOLI IN 2019
Holi is one of the important festivals in India which is in our doorsteps. This festival is celebrated in the full moon which is called Phagun ( March), but sometime it comes in earlier in the month of February. But in 2019 we are going to celebrate Holi on March 21th.

In ancient days people use to play Holi with homemade color, the color which is made from the flower, fruits, vegetables and any type of various plants and also it was safe for use as it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals as it was natural color, with the change of time the color
(gulal) has also changed nowadays color which we use in holi consist of a huge number of chemicals and artificial color, which is dangerous for our eyes, skin as well as hair, but it seems that slowly the natural gulal which is safe and best will come back again, as everybody is getting educated about the harmful effect of chemical which is dangerous for us.

WHY WE CELEBRATE HOLI OR REASON BEHIND HOLI FESTIVAL
According to the legends, there was king of demons whose name was Hiranyankashipu's. After doing lots of meditation he got a blessings (Vardan) from load Brahma that no one will able to kill him neither human nor god or animals, no weapon will able to harm him, he can't be killed in land nor sky, it may be day or night the blessings of Bhrama turn an advantage for him and from that day he started forcing everyone to worship him.
Hiranyankashipu's son Prahlad was the devotee of Lord Vishnu. Due to that the king of the devil (Hiranyankashipu) was not happy with his own son and tried to kill him in different ways but never succeed as Lord Vishnu's blessing was there with him.
The word Holi comes from name Holika. Holika was the sister of Hiranyankashipu. Holika was blessed (Vardan ) with a shawl that if she wears that shawl during fire she will never burn, using that the advantage Holika prank Prahalad and sit on the bonfire. But the shawl which was worn by Holika during bonfire comes to Prahlad and Holi was burned in the bonfire. After that Hiranyankashipu was killed by Lord Vishnu, as he adapts the look of half human and half animal and killed the king of demons with his nail.

SAFETY INFORMATION ABOUT HOLI
Holi is a great day of enjoying, dancing, playing which brings great joy. But there is some precaution to be taken to enjoy this wonderful festival fully.
1. Holi is a festival of brotherhood, get together and exchanging sweets and also playing with color so be sure to apply coconut oil or any other greasy oil to prevent your skin to get damaged by the harmful chemicals
- Wear old clothes as no want to dirty their brand new clothes with colors.
- Avoid using too many intoxicants for fun because the excess amount of intoxicants can make your sick.
- Avoid argument during Holi
- Avoid color in mouth or eye, if try to give color in your mouth then just close it before it enters.
- If you are girl or woman and you are alone don't try to pass through the isolated street because usually during Holi some men get over a drink and can misbehave, try to keep a distance from them.
- protect hair from getting damaged with colors
There are many cased happen with girls during Holi whether they are Indian or foreigner who came in India to enjoy this festival got harassed by some people's .so we should try to maintain some rules and regulation to avoid those kinds of situations.
